Ba Be National Park is one of the best birding hotspots in Northern Vietnam, located in Bac Kan Province. This park was established in 1992.
In the heart of the Ba Be National Park is Ba Be Lake (which translates to "Three Lakes") which is the largest and highest natural freshwater lake in Vietnam. And many varieties of landscapes: Puong Cave, Na Phong Cave, Hua Ma Cave, Tien (Fairy) Pond, Ba Goa (Widow) Islet, Dau Dang Waterfall and numerous villages of the Tay, Mong, Dao, Nung. This park is one of the tourist attractions in Northern Vietnam.
The vegetation in Ba Be National Park mainly consists of limestone and evergreen forest which is characteristic of the north of Vietnam. This is home to over 300 species of birds.
