"We are an Australian Birding Group of 5 resisding in Bendigo, Victoria Australia. I am writing to comemend the Vietbird Company for providing an excellent 7 day tour where over 80 species were photographed.
The tour leader Ms Tu (female) provided excellent guidance and remained enthusiastic through some tough physical stages of the tour. Knowledge and identification of the birds was very good. Her interaction and professionalism was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble excellent attributes to have as a tour leader. Everyone was very happy with her performance. The meals that were provided by the company were extremely good especially the evening meals. The hardy breakfasts were more than adequate to start the day. The state of the water was a concern before the trip. However, bottled water provided was more than adequate throughout the journey. The. air conditioned was bus was much appreciated after a strenuous bird hide session. It was great to relax in the air conditioned comfort of our bus. And may I say that our driver Phuc made us feel safe throughout the entire journey. There were no large wait times for transport. The bus and boat were always on time. Typical of the tremendeous organizational skills of Vietbird. A change of plans on the last leg of the journey was much appreciated. The company decided to fly us back from Dalat to Ho Chi Minh City saving us approximately 8 hours driving time. Top marks Vietbird for this change. Accommodation provided by the company was more than adequate. It was clean and comfortable. Overall I cannot fault this company. Value for money spent, it was exceptional and I would go again in an instant. If you want to enjoy Vietnam’s unique bird life, using the bird hides is way of doing just that. Thanks once again to Vietbird."

"The birding trip to Cat Tien was amazing. The trip logistics were perfect; pick up & drop off in the city, the drive to the park, and my accommodations.
My bird guide Duc could not have been better. He is an incredible birder. I was continually amazed by his skill with bird songs & calls as well; he could pick out a bird we had not yet seen by a faint call in the forest. He made sure that I got good looks (when possible) of each species. He was focused & tireless.
I enjoyed our itinerary. Duc selected a mix of bird hides, trails, roads. Plus we went out each night to look for owls, nightjars & frogmouths.
I also appreciated that you included Tran (Cloe) on the trip.

"The tour went very well. We were able to photograph some very interesting species. Quyen has tried very hard to show us the most interesting birds in each area and has never given up. For example, in the Da Lat area he insisted until he was able to show us a pair of Vietnamese Cutia.
He has also tried very hard to make the different meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) very varied so that we could enjoy a small taste of the rich cuisine of Vietnam.
We are also very satisfied with Tuyet. He drove very well and we felt very safe in his car."

"Starting from Hanoi and ending in Ho Chi Minh City, this is the most memorable bird photography tour we had had so far!! Not only because of the number of species of birds we have seen and photographed, but also for the way the whole tour was organized. At the time of finalizing the tour itself, we have cautioned Mt. Tien about our health issues. From the moment our started, Mr. Tien and the van driver Mr. Bom have been so meticulous in making the drive, stay and walks and hikes so comfortable that we forgot that we have health issues.
Mr. Tien, our tour guide and co-founder of Vietbird Ltd. Is an exemplary and unique person in many ways. As a guide, he amazed us several times with his keen hearing, tracking, spotting a bird and showing it for a good photograph. While tracking a bird, we gave up sometimes, but he would persist and go after it till, he shows it to us. His knowledge of the forests and the reverence he shows to them is worth mentioning.
The bird hides were maintained with utmost care not to disturb the habitat of the birds. The fact that most of the hides were exclusive to both of us only helped spend good time with birds up close. Kudos to the young guides like Mr. Mark Bui, Mr. Duc Nguyen and Ms. Tu for the upkeep of these hides.
Despite the inclement weather for the most part of the tour, Mr. Tien made sure that the tour went ahead smoothly. By the end of the tour, we had seen and photographed more than 350 species of birds out of which 155 are our personal lifers.
We are extremely thankful to Mr. Tien and his team for everything we experienced in this long tour. Time permitting, we are sure we will visit Vietnam once again, of course with Mr. Tien’s guidance."

"The travel arrangements this time were excellent. I greatly appreciate your team's efforts and extensive knowledge of the various bird species. It's not easy for bird guides in other countries to achieve such consistency, which significantly increased the chances of successful photography. As for improvement suggestions, it would be beneficial to explore more diverse birding locations, allowing for shorter journeys and increased photography time. Additionally, the cost of the trip is slightly higher compared to similar itineraries in other countries.
Furthermore, I must commend our bird guide, Ms Tu, for her exceptional professionalism. She not only mastered the timing and important details of bird photography but also took care of the diverse needs of the team. For example, she reminded us about the temperature and advised us to bring warm clothing. She even went out of his way to retrieve a team member's forgotten warm clothing from the vehicle, which made us all feel very cared for. Ms Tu is truly a rare combination of professionalism and thoughtfulness as a bird guide."

"We truly enjoyed the trip. Thanks to Mr. Hung who was obvisouly expert to show us all four kinds of beautiful Pittas and other birds as many as possible. He was also flexible enough to accommodate our needs to take photos of colorful small birds more so than rare big ones. Being able to occupy most hides by ourselves was quite helpful,too. Thank you for your efficient arrangement in advance. Not to mention, our driver, Mr. Tuyet, was also very kind and we were able to sleep well in his car.
All the hotels in Cat Tien, Da Lat and Di Linh were clean and very comfortable. Staying at one place for more than several days helped us to relax. Mr. Hung also made sure that we could experience variety of Vietnamese food that we really loved. Since it was the first time for us to visit Vietnum, all senaries and lifestyle of local people we saw during the trip just mesmerized us. The trip was not just a birding trip but became an exciting sighseeing trip for us, too. The trip was overall perfect and we love to visit Vietnum again, perhaps next time to Nothern area hopefully with Mr. Hung again in the not so far future. "Thanks for organising a great trip for me. Quyen was an excellent guide and put in considerable effort to ensure I saw all the langurs and other creatures very well. I thoroughly enjoyed all the night walks and saw many interesting creatures, including a flying frog! Also, finding flying lizards in Cat Ba National Park was an added bonus! The red shanked duoc langurs in Son Tra were amazing. Despite my poor spotting skills and the inclement weather in the north, Quyen also showed me a number of interesting and beautiful birds. Manh was a great herping guide and found lots of interesting frogs, lizards, insects and even a couple of snakes. Seeing a pangolin was unquestionably a highlight of the trip. All in all it was a fun and very successful trip and I certainly plan to return to Vietnam."

“Our trip to Vietnam has been a most fantastic one !! Thanks to Phuc Le (cofounder of VietBird) dedication, knowledge and patience, we recorded at least 334 species of birds of which 53 were personal lifers. Some of them will be forever unforgettable like Grey-crowned Crocias which was THE bird that had me desiring to visit Vietnam ! All the laughingthrushes were equally great, though often frustratingly elusive but thanks to your patience we got excellent views of most of them ! Red-collared Woodpecker, Blue, Blue-rumped and Bar-bellied Pittas, Vietnamese Cutia, Vietnamese Greenfinch, 8 species of barbets, some magnificent pheasant-related birds like Siamese Fireback, Germain's Peacock-Pheasant and Green Peafowl and a multitude of flycatchers were some of the other colourful gems that we saw during those memorable 3 weeks in Vietnam ! Rufous-tailed Robin, Siberian Thrush and Chestnut Bunting were also among my favourite ones since they are among those "sibes" that we praise so much in autumn in Western Europe. Now at last I know what they look like !! All the untouched forests are magnificent in Vietnam, let's hope the government will protect more such areas for the future of our beloved birds !!”

We visited Cat Tien NP and the Dalat area and rounded up almost every possible targets in just 3 full days, all thanks to Phuc’s incredible local knowledge. I think the list says it all, we finished with the hard-to-find Black-crowned Fulvetta. Best bird for me was Orange-necked Partridge in Cat Tien. "Thanks so much to Bui Duc Tien from VietBird for a marvelous 7 days Birding in North Vietnam... We had wonderful birding experiences and so many "lifers" but our moments with the Black-Faced Spoonbills, keep coming back to my mind. As we lifted off from Hanoi Airport and entered the clouds I thought about the four Spoonbills we had seen at Xuan Thuy National Park along the coastal zone of the Red River Delta. We had almost given up on finding this special species. Tien thought that perhaps the wintering birds had already left. He was the first to see one flying in the distance, recognizing it's distinct flying style. We watched the general area it landed and turned around and started walking fast. We found the bird and even better we were priveleged to observe it eating. As the day’s light was turning into a gorgeous sunset, three more Spoonbills flew in.
