Best time to visit Xuan Thuy National Park for a birding trip: December to May
Xuan Thuy National Park is one of the best birding hotspots in Northern Vietnam, located in Nam Dinh province. It's about 150km southeast of Hanoi Capital.
Xuan Thuy National Park was one of the first wetland areas to be announced a Ramsar site in south-east Asia and is internationally significant as a migratory bird habitat. Between October and March, thousands of migratory birds move from the north to Xuan Thuy National Park. This area is a paradise for waders and shorebirds, the best place to see an endangered Black-faced Spoonbill, a highlight species in Vietnam and the larger region.
